1. Superior Thermal Conductivity

Unlike carpet or thick timber, which act as insulators (blocking heat), Natural Marble Tiles have high thermal conductivity. This means they transfer heat from your underfloor pipes or electric mats to the surface of the floor much faster and more evenly.

Marble doesn't just get warm; it stays warm. Because stone has high "thermal mass," it acts like a storage heater. Even after your heating system turns off, the marble will continue to radiate gentle warmth into the room for hours, making it an incredibly energy-efficient choice for 2026 home standards.

3. Installation Tips for Heated Floors

If you are installing Marble Mosaics or tiles over a heating system, there are two professional rules to follow:

• Use an S2 Flexible Adhesive: Heating causes slight expansion and contraction. An S2 rated adhesive (like we discussed in our installation guide) ensures the bond remains flexible and prevents cracking.
• De-coupling Membranes: We highly recommend using a de-coupling mat over UFH to protect your beautiful Carrara or Calacatta stone from any structural movement.
