Care Guide

IntMarble’s Ultimate UK Guide to Natural Stone Care and Maintenance

Preserve the beauty and extend the life of your natural stone surfaces with our in-depth, UK-specific care guide.

Daily Care and Cleaning:

  • Wipe Down: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down surfaces.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use acidic or abrasive cleaners that can etch or damage the stone.
  • Spills: Clean up any spills immediately to prevent staining.

Weekly Care:

  • Mild Detergent: Use a pH-neutral cleaner for a more thorough clean.
  • Rinse and Dry: Always rinse the surface thoroughly and dry it to prevent water spots.

Periodic Maintenance:

  • Sealing: Depending on the stone type, periodic sealing may be necessary.
  • Polishing: Some stones benefit from occasional polishing to restore their shine.
  • Professional Cleaning: Consider professional cleaning for deep-set stains or restoration.

Addressing Stains and Spills:

  • Immediate Action: The quicker a spill is addressed, the less likely it will stain.
  • Stain Removal: Use a poultice for oil-based or organic stains.

Special Considerations for Different Stone Types:

  • Marble: Sensitive to acids and prone to etching.
  • Granite: Less porous but may still require sealing.
  • Limestone & Travertine: More porous and may require frequent sealing.

Safety Precautions:

  • Read Labels: Always read the labels on any cleaning products to ensure they are suitable for natural stone.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Use gloves and other PPE as needed, especially when handling cleaners or sealers.

Delivery Times:

Pallet Sizes:

For orders exceeding 100kg, pallet delivery is essential for the safe transportation of your tiles. These pallets are generally 'half' or 'full' size and measure approximately:

Please note that the maximum load on each pallet is 1000kg. Orders exceeding this weight will arrive on two or more pallets.

Kerbside Delivery:

Our deliveries are made to the kerbside only, as is customary for most pallet deliveries. Delivery drivers are not insured to enter your property, open the pallet, or physically handle the tiles. Since tiles are heavy, with some boxes weighing up to 30kg, we recommend arranging for assistance to promptly move your order into your property.

  • Sign "DAMAGED" on the delivery note

  • Email us at [Provide Email]

For sustainability reasons, we recommend using damaged tiles for cuts in your project whenever possible. We'll dispatch free replacements or credit you for damaged tiles after reviewing your form and photos.

Access Issues:

Please inform us in advance of any local access issues such as narrow lanes, repair works, or road closures. We'll make alternate arrangements if needed, possibly incurring an extra charge for a smaller vehicle or re-delivery.

Cancelling Your Order:

To cancel your order, contact cs@intmarble.com within two hours of placing it. Orders are dispatched quickly, and redelivery charges may apply if the order has already left our premises.

Changing Your Order:

We can amend quantities, delivery dates, or addresses if you contact us within two hours of placing your order. After this window, redelivery charges may apply.

Late Deliveries:

Occasionally, external factors like traffic or weather may cause delivery delays beyond our control. We'll do our best to notify you of any delays. We recommend not scheduling tradespersons until after your order has been delivered.

Increased Property Value

Natural stone, especially premium Italian marble, is a sought-after luxury material that can significantly enhance your property's value and appeal to potential buyers. Real estate professionals consistently rank natural stone flooring among the top features that increase home resale value.

Natural Temperature Regulation

Marble naturally stays cool, making it an excellent choice for warmer climates or spaces that receive abundant sunlight. This natural cooling property makes Bianco Gioia Venatino marble tiles particularly desirable for bathroom floors and kitchen surfaces.

Unique Natural Beauty

As a product of nature, each 305x305x10mm tile features unique veining patterns and subtle color variations, ensuring that your installation will be truly one-of-a-kind. No two Bianco Gioia Venatino marble installations are exactly alike, giving your space a distinctive character impossible to achieve with manufactured tiles.

Installation Guide for Bianco Gioia Venatino Marble Tiles

Surface Preparation

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and level before installation. For optimal results, use a cement backer board for wall installations and a suitable subfloor for flooring applications. Proper preparation is essential for a successful installation of your premium Italian marble tiles.

Adhesive Recommendation

Use a high-quality, polymer-modified thin-set adhesive specifically designed for natural stone. White adhesive is recommended to preserve the marble's natural color and prevent discoloration of your Bianco Gioia Venatino tiles.

Grouting

Allow adhesive to cure according to manufacturer's instructions before grouting. Use unsanded grout for joints less than 1/8" wide to prevent scratching the marble surface. For best results with these premium Italian marble tiles, choose a grout color that complements the white and grey tones.

Sealing

Apply a penetrating sealer designed for natural stone before and after grouting to protect against stains and enhance the marble's natural beauty. Reapply sealer every 12-18 months or as needed to maintain the pristine appearance of your Bianco Gioia Venatino marble tiles.

Professional Installation

For best results, we recommend professional installation by experienced tile setters familiar with natural stone materials. Professional installation ensures your premium Italian marble tiles are properly set, maximizing their beauty and longevity.

Maintenance Guide for Bianco Gioia Venatino Marble

Regular Cleaning

Clean with a pH-neutral cleaner specifically formulated for natural stone. Avoid acidic cleaners (including vinegar), as they can etch the marble surface. Regular maintenance will preserve the beauty of your Bianco Gioia Venatino marble tiles for years to come.

Spill Management

Wipe up spills immediately, especially acidic substances like wine, citrus juices, or tomato sauce, which can etch the surface. Prompt attention to spills will prevent permanent damage to your premium Italian marble tiles.

Preventative Care

Use coasters under glasses, place mats under dishes, and felt pads under decorative items to prevent scratches and etching on your Bianco Gioia Venatino marble surfaces. These simple precautions will help maintain the pristine condition of your natural stone investment.

Periodic Resealing

Reseal your marble tiles every 12-18 months or as needed to maintain stain resistance and preserve their beauty. Regular resealing is essential for maintaining the appearance and integrity of your Bianco Gioia Venatino marble tiles, especially in wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens.

Professional Restoration

If your marble develops scratches or etching over time, professional restoration services can polish the surface to restore its original beauty. Even after years of use, your Bianco Gioia Venatino marble tiles can be refreshed to look like new with proper professional care.

Frequently Asked Questions About Bianco Gioia Venatino Marble Tiles

How many 305x305x10mm Bianco Gioia Venatino tiles do I need?

Natural Variation - Disclaimer

Unique Character in Each Slab: Understanding Natural Variations at IntMarble

At IntMarble, we specialize in offering an exquisite range of natural stones, each characterized by unique variations that make it an individual work of art. While we go to great lengths to provide accurate imagery and samples, it's crucial to understand that these can't fully encapsulate the natural variations intrinsic to each stone.

Why Does Variation Occur?

Natural stones are Mother Nature's masterpieces. As such, each piece showcases unique aspects such as color variations, diverse veining patterns, and intricate movements. While our categorization methods aim to capture these characteristics, photographs and samples have their limitations.

Before You Install: Crucial Steps to Take

We highly advise that all customers unpack and inspect their stone products prior to installation. This allows you to fully grasp the unique features of each piece and ensures that they align with your design expectations.

Disclaimer

It's essential to recognize that the natural variations you'll encounter in our stone products are not flaws. Rather, they are what make each piece distinct and extraordinarily beautiful. Our return and exchange policies are designed with this natural uniqueness in mind, so please review them carefully prior to your purchase.

Your Satisfaction Is Our Mission

Customer satisfaction ranks high on our list of priorities. If you have any queries or concerns regarding the natural stone you've acquired, our customer service team is just a call or email away. We're here to guide you at each step—right from selection to the final installation.
